Messages to MI Personnel

Welcome to the NCICA web site.   Those of you who are Military Intelligence personnel - active and retired-   and interested in finding an organization comprised of military intelligence people.   Perhaps the National Counter Intelligence Corps Association would ‘fill-the-bill” since it is an organization established by and for current and ex Mil. Intel. personnel.   The introductory overview of the group can be found in the Chairman’s Greeting that heads the Index list for this site.  We are the oldest organization in the U.S.A. that has maintained an unbroken active history recognizing the contribution of intelligence operations during the critical years of the last century.  The dedication of NCICA to its roots and the stability of this country was demonstrated by our voluntary petition to the U.S. Government following 9-11.  For example, In 2001, shortly after 9-11, our convention was being held in Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada.  The scheduled speaker was to have been the Director of the Canadian Intelligence Service.  However, because of the immediacy of 9-11 in New York, the Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania, he had been called to oversee Canadian operations related to the disaster and we were addressed by the Assistant CSIS who filled us in on the communication and interaction of International, civilian and Mil. Intel. Services.  Needless to say, we were deeply moved and that evening virtually all attendees voluntarily signed a petition to once again actively serve this country.  The government’s response was a “Thank you, but no thanks.”    As to the conventions; it is a yearly event that takes place in various cities around the country.  All necessary arrangements are made in advance making it easy for members to make their convention reservations.  Travel reservations are left to the individual; but, airlines that service the various conventions are listed - again, to help make the experience an enjoyable one.  NCICA is a non-profit organization and business conducted during the convention is to make yearly administrative changes, reports concerning the business conducted at the annual Convention and a descriptive offering concerning the city, state and local community points of interest.  Added to this is a usual description of the Guest Speaker and his family (when appropriate) with mention of his topic for the evening address following the Convention Banquet.  Boring ??  Not so;

Speakers and members who have joined us at our conventions have been knowledgeable former agents, now authors, lawyers, CEO’s, educators and people of prominence.  Previous speakers of note have been: John Koehler, CIC, Reporter and author of the expose “Stasi”, the East German Secret Police in East Germany under Soviet control.  Now with a new publication “Spies in the Vatican” dealing with the infiltration of the Vatican by NAZI agents.  Rene Defourneaux (the Fox), recently deceased, was CIC/OSS, parachuted into France to work in concert with the French Resistance.  His most recent book “The Raven dropped His Cheese”. Another CIC/Agent of note: Al Lefebvre, was the only American agent able to penetrate the North Viet Nam forces and the French occupation Army and survive.   He has authored a book titled “CIA” or Call It Again- his communication password while in French Indo China and Viet Nam.  During our conventions, we have toured the Citadel in So. Carolina, reviewed the troops and were honored to have Colonel John Lackey, former Citadel Commandant, recent inductee into the Intel. Hall of Fame (Ft. Huachuca) as our keynote speaker. Our visit to the Military Academy at West Point saw a transformation in older members who walked in somewhat stooped, stand tall and straight on that campus.  We wore our convention ID’s and every Cadet we met honored us with a “Thank You for what you did”.  Everyone of us walked to an unsung cadence - tall, strong, as we did years ago.  You really had to be there and with that you might consider joining NCICA.  Convention 2010 saw us at the Truman Library and Museum. Upon entrance we saw what has been missing from the politicians agenda for a half century: the legendary motto graven on a sign Truman had on his desk -“The Buck Stops Here”.  Somewhere on this website is the invite to meet old friends and make new ones.  The statement is like a motto, BUT is very true.  Most of the members are on the ‘net- so, the “meeting and making”  takes place 24/7, 365 days a year - faces, not needed: every contact is greeting a new “brother.”  Final note: for you younger guys, this is a great way to network.
